Newton's Law may be "force equals mass times acceleration", but Manning's Law is "winning equals hitting plus pitching" and for the boys from South of the River, Manning’s Law equalled blasting the Oneida Indians for a 12-0 win.

Midway senior pitcher Josh Manning was the star of the show Tuesday as he handcuffed Indian hitters, tossing a complete-game, two-hitter with no walks and 12 strikeouts.

Manning, however, also had a good day at the dish as he went two-for-two with a home run and four RBIs.

Midway started things off with a loud bang as Manning had a two-run single, Thomas Viar had a sacrifice RBI, and Logan Davidson had a two-run single as Midway grabbed an early 5-0 lead.

Midway doubled their lead in the second inning, highlighted by a two-run blast by Manning that went so far and so high, it should have had a stewardess and an in-flight movie.

Logan Davidson had an RBI in the frame plus two more runs came in off of errors to make the score 10-0.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Christian Moore had an RBI single while Davidson had another RBI single to make the eventual final score 12-0.

Besides Manning, Midway was led at the plate by Moore (3-3, 1 RBI), Jonathan Barnett (3-3, 1 2B) and Davidson (2-3, 4 RBIs) as all three picked up multiple hits for the Green Waves.

Midway returns to action Monday when they host Greenback in a District 3-A contest.
