School board candidates Kim Nelson and Hugh Johnson are blunt.
No, they said, when asked if they would have voted to extend the contract for Director of Schools Toni McGriff.
There was still more than a year left on the contract when the Roane County Board of Education voted to extend it for two years last November.
“I definitely feel like it should have been waited on,” said Johnson, whose son, Chris, is a vice principal at Cherokee Middle School and a Roane County commissioner.
