Midway falls short against defending state champ Forrest

Midway senior pitcher Hannah Colyer fired a four-hitter with one walk Tuesday night in the Lady Waves TSSAA Class A State Tournament opening game against Forrest, but it wasn't enough for the Lady Waves to defeat the defending state champion Lady Rockets as Forrest took advantage of six Midway errors in picking up a 4-0 victory.

Half of Midway's errors came in the bottom of the second inning and it proved costly as Forrest scored three of their four runs.
