Military Matters: Michael J. Vann

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Michael J. Vann has deployed overseas to a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Operation Enduring Freedom is the official name given to anti-terrorism military operations involving U.S. troops and allied coalition partners.

Vann is a vehicle maintenance technician assigned to the 134th Air Refueling Wing at Knoxville.

The sergeant has served in the military for 15 years.

 He is the son of David and Judy Vann of Kingston and Janice McCown of Harriman.
