MILITARY MATTERS: Scott W. Collins

Scott W. Collins has been promoted to the rank of chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

Collins, son of Ray and Shirley Collins of Oakdale, is a weapons systems branch superintendent assigned to the 1st Special Operations Wing at Hurlburt Field, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.  

The sergeant has served in the military for 24 years.

His sisters are Vicki McCullough of Harriman and Ginger Mitchell of Knoxville.

His wife, Christine, is the daughter of Gregory and Maryellen Pelkey of Leesburg, Fla.
