Mistakes doom Eagles

OAKDALE-The scoreboard didn't come close to telling the story of Oakdale's 34-14 loss to Jackson County on Hollis Eble Field Friday night.

Oakdale (1-4) out gained the Blue Devils (3-3) by 190 total yards, but 191 yards in penalties and four turnovers doomed the Eagles in their homecoming game. The yellow flags cost the Eagles a touchdown and a player (Jonathan Mathis) in addition to plenty of momentum during the second half.
