Monday was a tough day for the Midway Middle School Green Wave and Lady Waves as both squad suffered defeats at Greenback.

The opening game of the evening would see the Lady Waves dropping a 40-23 decision. In the nightcap game, Midway rallied late, but still came up short as the Cherokees picked up the victory, 41-34.

As time passes, the youthful Lady Waves are getting better as they gain experience. Monday would see the Lady Waves put together their best performance of the season against the Lady Cherokees.

Midway played really well in the first half as they trailed 6-5 after one period of play and 18-15 at halftime.

Hannah Shultz led Midway in the first half with six points while Alexis Bosnak and Kimmy West added three each.

While the first half went great, the third quarter was disastrous as Greenback shut the Lady Waves out in the frame and led 27-15 entering the final period.

Midway did score eight points in the fourth quarter, but they were unable to make a run as the Lady Cherokees went on to the 17-point victory.
