Moore to speak at Sevier Drive Church

Bro. Joe Moore of Scarboro Church of Christ, Oak Ridge, will be the guest speaker at Sevier Drive Church of Christ, Harriman, on June 1.

Moore will teach Sunday school 10:45 a.m. and deliver the service message at 11:30 a.m.

The church is at 1014 Sevier Drive.

A native of Huntsville, Ala., Moore is a public speaker with a special calling. He is a Distinguished Toastmaster, the highest honor in Toastmasters International, which is presented for outstanding accomplishments and leadership excellence in the pursuit of the mission of Toastmasters International.

He is president of Knoxville/Oak Ridge Tuskegee Alumni Club and the Energy Valley Toastmasters Club.

He is a visiting professor in the National Urban League’s Black Executive Exchange Program, a partnership between corporate America and historically and predominately black colleges to help mentor students and exchange timely information about skills and knowledge required to succeed in the workplace.

Moore has worked for Union Carbide, Martin Marietta, Lockheed Martin, B&W Y-12 for 35 years.

He has more than 34 years of management experience and is a business owner.

He was an All American while playing football at Tuskegee University.

He was selected 1974 Who’s Who, named Best Offensive Lineman 1972-74 and is a 1989 Hall Of Fame Inductee at Tuskegee University.

Moore and his wife of 30 years, Delnise, have three children, Joshua, Danielle and Deahna, have three children.
