More clarity called for in county fire chief situation

Roane County’s plan to make Howie Rose chief of the Roane County Fire Department has some volunteer firefighters asking questions.

“We’re not sure how to answer them right now,” West Roane County Volunteer Fire Department Chief Charlie Redwine said.

The Roane County Commission was set to vote on making Rose the fire chief on Feb. 13, but the volunteer firefighters’ objections led the board to postpone the matter for 60 days.
