Christmas in the Mountains will return to Frozen Head State Park on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 4th and 5th for the first time since 1995.
The Morgan County Chamber of Commerce has partnered with a newly reorganized Friends of Frozen Head to put the event together. It will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. each evening and will feature several displays by local churches and giant Christmas cards from area businesses.
"Folks will drive along a gravel loop road, view live Nativity scenes, a live portrayal of an old fashion Christmas, gigantic Christ-mas cards with greetings from local businesses and organizations, live performers on stage, as well as live characters in Santa's Village," said Chamber Director Gigi Schooler.
"Children of all ages can have their picture taken with Santa Claus and free hot chocolate and cookies will be available for children at the village," she added.

In addition the Singing Around the Courthouse will be on Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 12:30 until 3 p.m. featuring children who are participating in the 21st Century Community Learning Center After School program through Morgan County Schools.
Finally, on Saturday, Dec. 6 the Morgan County Christmas Parade will get underway at 6 p.m. along Main Street in Wartburg. For more information about the parade you may contact Jennifer at Wicks' Flowers at 346-6393. Trophies will be awarded at First Baptist Church following the parade.
