Morgan Ruth Peters, 12, of Rockwood, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, in East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville.
She was a member of Post Oak Christian Church in Rockwood, where she was a member of the youth group. A sixth-grade student at Rockwood Middle School, she was a percussionist in the middle school band. She had a sweet spirit that would make a mood go from bad to good with just a smile or hug. She helped to save the lives of others by being an organ donor.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Bonnie Peters; and two uncles, Pat Waldo and Wayne Bryant.
She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Andy and Amanda Peters, Rockwood; two sisters, Emily Peters and Hannah Peters, Rockwood; her grandparents, David Waldo, Rockwood, and Joy and Jack Jenkins, Spring City; her great-grandmother, Kathleen Price, Rockwood; several aunts, uncles and cousins; her best friends, Kristen O’Dell, Triston Sander, Amira Cofer and Sara Cofer; a host of friends; and a large church family.
Visitation and funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 9, in Rockwood First Baptist Church, 309 N. Chamberlain Ave., Rockwood. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church; funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Bro. Patrick McMullen officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at noon Thursday, May 10, at Glen Alice Cemetery in Rockwood. Evans Mortuary, Rockwood, is in charge of arrangements.
