Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Charles will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 1.
They will celebrate with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. April 10 in Lakeview Baptist Church fellowship building, Harriman.
Charles and the former Carolyn Courtney were married on April 1, 1961, in Harriman, with the Rev. H.M. James officiating.
He was a wood buyer at the Harriman papermill and an operator at Fortafil Carbon Fibers in Rockwood. She was a teacher and a teacher’s aide in the Harriman City School system. Both are retired and live in their original home in the Swan Pond Community.
The couple has two children, Melissa Charles Shealy and husband William of Stockbridge, Ga., and Stephen and wife Angela of Harriman.
There are four grandchildren: Courtney Raymond, Brent Raymond, Eli Charles and Matthew Charles.
