Meredith Michelle Potts and Samuel Cuyler Dunbar were married on Dec. 11 in St. Paul Community Church, Nashville.
The Rev. Jack Carver of Gallatin officiated during the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David and Jeannie Potts of Memphis. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Garland Brinson of Burleson, Texas, and Louise Potts of Jackson GA.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Cuyler Dunbar of Conover N.C. He is the grandson of Verdell Martin of Conover.
Wedding musicians were organist Trudy Bain and acoustic guitarist Garrett Glass of Port Murray, N.J.
Melissa Davis of Perryville, Md., attended her sister as matron of honor. Maid of honor was Amanda Quinn of Nashville. Bridesmaids were Dr. Katie Goldhair of Jackson, Miss.; Mandy Linthicum of Nashville; Dianne Moore of Franklin; Amy Morel of Memphis; Meredith Polston of Lafayette; Dr. Amy Potts of Franklin; Lauren Russell of Clemson, S.C.; and the groom’s sister, Kelli Smith of Kingston. The bride’s niece, Sarah Potts of Franklin, was flower girl.
The bride wore a silky satin mermaid gown with sweetheart neckline. Accenting the waist was a champagne silk sash with a vintage brooch, and crystal buttons adorned the back of the gown. The asymmetrical pleating on the bodice and skirt fell softly into a feminine bubble hem with a sweep train. The gown was finished off with a fingertip veil and headpiece to complement the vintage brooch detail.
The bridesmaids wore black satin knee-length dresses. They carried bouquets of cream roses, light green hydrangeas and stephanotis.
The groom’s father, Dr. Cuyler Dunbar, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeremy Curtis of Nashville; James Hill of Orlando, Fla.; Zac Lamb of Asheville, N.C., formerly of Conover; Dallas Lynn of Santa Monica, Calif.; Shaun McComas of Chicago; the bride’s brother, Jason Potts of Franklin; Dr. Daniel Walters of Lumberton, N.C.; Jeff Williams of Nashville; and Scott Visin of Nashville. Ushers were David Watson of Conover; Jesse Smith of Newton, N.C.; Chan Patrick of Athens; and the groom’s nephew, Jeffrey Smith of Knoxville. The bride’s nephew, Carter Potts, was ring bearer.
Bell ringers were the bride’s twin nieces, Adalynn and Olivia Davis, and the bride’s nephew, Owen Potts.
The couple took their first Communion together during the ceremony.
After the ceremony, the bride’s parents entertained at a reception at Houston Station in Nashville. Music for the reception was performed by the Nashvegas All-Stars, a five-piece band.
The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Union Station in Nashville. A bridesmaids’ brunch was hosted by Jeannie Potts and Mary Ann Lynn of Columbia.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple is at home in Nashville.
The bride, a graduate of White Station High School in Memphis, holds a degree in business administration with a major in management from the University of Tennessee.
As community services team leader for Tennessee Donor Services, she is responsible for hospital development at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and marketing initiatives at Vanderbilt and throughout Tennessee.
The groom is a 1999 honors graduate of Newton-Conover High School. He also holds a degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee.
He is the owner of Titan Construction and Development with a primary emphasis in custom renovations.
