Helen Fox is a pioneer — one of the first women to play on the Grand Ole Opry at a time when it wasn’t considered proper for a young woman to perform without her husband.
Her fiddle-playing brother, Curly Fox, is more well-known, but Helen, a Rhea County native and a resident of Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center, also made her mark in the early years of country music.
