Kaleb Heath Latshaw, infant, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville.
Kaleb was born in Knoxville.
Survivors include his parents, Heath and Kristy Jackson Latshaw; brother, Logan; maternal grandparents, Rick and Mary Jackson and paternal grandparents, Phillip Latshaw, Gene and Gayla Elsea, all of Spring City; maternal great-grandmother, Masel Reed of Grandview; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service was Monday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City, with the Rev. Jake Fisher and the Rev. Danny Carter officiating. Burial was Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. in Spring City Cemetery. The family received friends Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of service.

Jane Smith died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Jordyn Stout
Jordyn Mattison Stout, infant daughter of Jeremy and Lindsay Stout of Knoxville, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at Parkwest Hospital.
Besides her parents, survivors include, grandparents, Lance and Bonnie Stowell, Frank and Kathryn Stout, and Frederick and Karen Miraglia, all of Knoxville; great-grandparents, Charles and Anna Mae Johnson of Brooksville, Fla., Bob and Frances Terrell of Knoxville; aunts and uncles, Trevor and Lori Stowell, Staci Stowell Hibbert, Jason Stout, Justin Stout, all of Knoxville; Robert and Martha Sharp of Bath, Maine; several cous-ins.
Graveside service was 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood with Pastor Tony Maples and the Rev. Lee Eiss officiating.

William "Bill" E. Horma
William "Bill" E. Horma, 63, of Rockwood, died Nov. 16, 2007 at Roane Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 21, 1944 in Rockwood and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Horma and Margaret Wilson Horma; aunts, Katherine Knight and Mabel Hughett; and uncle, Warren Wilson.
Survivors include aunt, Ilaree Wilson; cousins, Ray Knight, both of Rockwood, June Stevens of Oak Ridge.
Graveside service and burial was Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood with the Rev. Rick Roberts officiating. The family received friends Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Evans Mortuary.

Amanda Wood
Amanda F. “Frankie” Woody Wood, 92, of Kingston, died Saturday afternoon, Nov. 17, 2007, at Baptist Health Care Center.
Frankie was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and a retired employee of Bacon Hosiery Mill.
She was preceded in death by husband, Thomas “Red” Wood; parents, John and Elizabeth Miller Woody; and sister, Robbie Bostic.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip Bryson Wood, Thomas and Gena Wood of Kingston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tika Bright, Mary Christian of Loudon, Eva and Raymond Bagwell of Georgia, Ruth and Russell Miller of Nashville; brothers and sister-in-law, J. C. Woody, of Loudon, George and Gertrude Woody of Paint Rock; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Loudon Funeral Home. Graveside services were Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Paint Rock Cemetery.

John Edward Goodson, 59
John Edward Goodson, 59 of Lancing, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center. He attended Frankfort Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, C.E. (Coon) Goodson.
Mr. Goodson is survived by his wife of 41 years, Wanda Sue (Newberry) Goodson; daughter, Sheila Goodson; sons, John L. and Anthony W. Goodson all of Lancing; grandchildren, Zackary and Kayla Goodson of Lancing and Shea Michelle Goodson of Texas; mother, Bethel (Honeycutt) Goodson of Lancing; brothers, Charles and wife Myrtle Goodson of Lancing, Ken-neth and wife Gail Goodson of Alabama; also a host of family and friends.
The family received friends Friday evening, Nov. 16, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 17, 1 p.m. at the Frank-fort Community Church with Bro. Darwin Nance officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Joseph H. Paehler, Jr. 85
Joseph H. Paehler, Jr., 85, a resident of Back Valley Rd. in Coalfield for the past six years, passed away peacefully late Tuesday evening, Nov. 13, 2007 at his home. He had lived most of his life in Oak Ridge. He worked in Research and Development as a Chemical Engineer at the Y-12 Plant for ORNL. He was born in Brownsville, Tn on Jan. 7, 1922.
Mr. Paehler is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lillian Ramsey Paehler; son, Jerry A. Huckabey and wife Sharon of Coalfield; grandchildren, Terry Young and Bill of Coalfield, Lora Martin of Knoxville, Jay Huckabey and Stephanie of Clinton, Jeffrey Huckabey and Martin West of Knoxville, Mark and Stacy Justice of Jamestown, John Justice of Coalfield, Jessica and Jeremy Lowe of Oliver Springs and Kela Broglin of Coalfield; great-grandchildren, Ashley Jones, Nicole and Billy Berry, Sterling, Silver, Jackson, and Kerry Martin, Jesse O’dell, Trenton Woodard, Paige and Jerry Mashburn, Johnathan, Alexander, Elizabeth, and Lillyan Huckabey, Emily, Lucas, and Elijah Justice, and Carter Lowe; great-great-grandson, Ashton Jones.
The family received friends Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jackson-Oliver Mortuary in Oliver Springs. Funeral services began at 8 p.m. with Preacher John Underwood officiating. A graveside service was held on Friday at 11 a.m. in Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

David Dee Seiber, 69, Wartburg
David Dee Seiber, 69, of Wartburg, passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 14, 2007 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired coal miner.
Mr. Seiber is preceded in death by his parents, Haskel Lee and Lannie Kennedy Seiber; brother, Haskel Lee Seiber Jr.; and sister, Celeste Gleness Patterson.
He is survived by his brothers, Cledyth Ray of Cleveland, Ohio, Donald Clayton and Obra Layton, both of Wartburg and Brentley Allen of Azle, Tx; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Fu-neral Home, Wartburg. Funeral service followed at 8 p.m. with Rev. Joe Crichton and Bro. Houston Carroll officiating. Graveside service was held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Seiber Cemetery, Devonia.

James William Akins, Sr., 89
James William Akins, Sr., 89, of the Mossy Grove Community, went to Heaven on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at the Roane Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 6, 1918 in Daysville, Tn. He was a charter member and a deacon of Mossy Grove Baptist Church. He was also a pur-ple heart veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson and Bertha Garrett Akins; brothers, Hobert Akins, Charles Akins, Carl Akins, Jess Steelman, and Ed Steelman; sisters, Opal Ashford; two infant siblings; and granddaughter, Phyllis Human Madden.
Mr. Akins is survived by his wife of 69 years, Georgia Hall Akins; son and daughter-in-law, Jimi Akins Jr. and wife Vickie; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie Burgess, Jeannia Bowers and husband Joe, Peggy Wilson and husband Roger, Bobbie Morgan and husband Cotton and Jane Human and husband O.L.; 13 grandchildren, Connie, Donnie, Misty, Barry, Dustin, Aaron, Leanne, Kelly, Kevin, Joey, Chris, Nicole, and Nathan; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Prater and Thelma Westcott; many other family members and a host of friends.
The family received friends Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Fu-neral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 18th at 3 p.m. at Mossy Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Disney and Bro. Johnny Vespie officiating. Mr. Akins lay in state one hour in advance. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Margie Underwood, 80, Lancing
Margie Underwood, 80, of the Lancing community, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was a life-long member of Pilot Mountain Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Underwood; parents, Will and Pearlie Goodman; brothers, Johnny, Lonnie, Willard, and Dempsey Goodman.
Mrs. Underwood is survived by her son, Larry Underwood and wife Mickey; daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy Smith and husband Gary and Gail Walker and husband Sam; grandchildren, Kelly Thorton, Stacey Ridenour, Alicia Pruitt, Emily Gibson, Tim Vespie, and Cale Crouch; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Savannah Garrett and Annie Sexton both of Lancing, Clina Bowling of Rockwood and Mary Nell Hall of Atlanta; also several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Monday, Nov. 19th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at Pilot Mt. Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Charles Webb and her nephew, Bro. David Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in the Lane Cemetery.

Helen L. Freels, 85, Oliver Springs
Helen L. Freels, 86, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord, Nov. 15, 2007 at Harriman Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Harriman.
Mrs. Freels was born Oct. 15, 1921 in Coalfield. She is a lifelong resident of this area.
Helen was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Before her illness she was very in-volved in church activities including the church choir and teaching Sunday School Class.
She was employed as an Avon Field Representative for many years before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Freels; parents, Jess and Viola Sisson Taylor; son-in-law, Steve Gerstal Hall; and brother, Dean Taylor.
Mrs. Freels is survived by two children, Teresa Hall of Oliver Springs and Frank “Butch” Freels, Jr. and his wife Jennie of Paducah, Ky.; three grandchildren, Amanda Moore and her husband Frank of Oliver Springs, Sonny Hall and his wife Rebecca of Harriman, and Jason Freels and his wife Beth of Dayton, Ohio.; three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Harrison, and Anderson; two sisters, Betty Borum and Faye Vann of Oliver Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 between the hours of 12 and 2 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Funeral services followed in the church at 2 p.m. with Pastor Garvan Walls and Rev. Keith Price officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
