OAKDALE - Oneida’s new millennium stranglehold on Oakdale is finally over.
Fred Snow’s team got defensive in their first district test of the season as they held Oneida to 32.4% from the field on their way to a 36-31 win last Tuesday night to snap a 19-game losing streak to the Lady Indians.
Oakdale (4-0, 1-0 in District 4-A) overcame frigid shooting (29.5%) from the floor to beat Oneida for the first time since a 50-40 victory in the 1999 District Tournament.
