Office seekers stump at county commission mtg.

The public is given an opportunity to speak at each Roane County Commission meeting. Most often people take the time to express grievances or concerns about things going on in the county, but sometimes it can become a platform for political hopefuls.

That was the case in February when Kent Calfee, who is seeking the Republican nomination in House District 32, came before the commission.

“If I’m elected, I’ll certainly be in Nashville to work for you all,” he said.
