Oliver Springs blasts Norwood

The Oliver Springs Middle School Lady Bobcats put forth a dominant performance against the Norwood Lady Jaguars as the Lady 'Cats took a convincing 47-15 win Tuesday evening. 

The Lady 'Cats had 15-4 first period as Ashley Armstrong and Lindsay Buck (4 points each) led the scoring in the opening period for the Lady 'Cats. 

A 15-6 second period saw Taylor Bradshaw (6 points) pacing the way for the purple and gold squad as they took a 30-10 halftime lead. 

A 15-2 third period by Oliver Springs pushed the lead to 45-12 with six minutes left to play.

Keeley McDonald led Oliver Springs in the third period with four points.

The final period only saw a combined five points from both teams as Oliver Springs took the 47-15 win. 

Bradshaw (9 points, 7 boards), Buck (9 points, 5 boards), Brooklyn Jones, Armstrong and McDonald (6 points each) led the Lady 'Cats in scoring.

Boys Game

Despite a sluggish start, the Bobcats beat the Jaguars 55-26. 

Oliver Springs started the game with an 11-9 lead at the end of the opening period. The Bobcats expanded the lead to 24-17 at the half as Bobby Farr (5 points) led the Bobcats while BJ Forsythe (5 points) led the Jaguars at the half.

In the second half, the 'Cats went on an 18-5 tear to start the third period, guided by Garrett Andrews (7 points) before Norwood scored the final basket of the third period to take a 42-24 lead into the final stanza. 

The final stanza was a back-breaking 13-2 run by the 'Cats, led by four points from Hunter Melton to take the 55-26 win. 

Andrews (13 points), and Landon Everett (7 points, led the Bobcats on the night.
