Bruce Warmack of Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s measurement science and systems engineering division will give a presentation during the next luncheon lecture meeting of the Friends of ORNL.
“Making Machines Sense Our World” will be the topic of the Oct. 8 presentation.
The meeting, open to the public, will begin at 11 a.m. in the UT Resource Center at 1201 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
Warmack, a physicist who earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, has worked at ORNL in a variety of research areas since the 1970s.
Over the past decade, he has developed detection technologies from micro-machined sensors to chemical sensors for homeland security.
