OS, Rockwood FBLA students compete

Rockwood High School and Oliver Springs High School Future Business Leaders of America students recently competed in state-level competition in Chattanooga.

Winners included Shelley Edwards, Rockwood, second place in business finance; Chelsea Kile and Kristen Jolley, Rockwood, fifth-place desktop publishing team; Kelly Melvin, fifth place insurance and risk management; Melvin and Laura Bannon, Oliver Springs,

first place online virtual business management; and Krystina Coward, Oliver Springs, third place, networking concepts.

Other students competed from Oliver Springs were Rebekah Turner, Alysa Will, Heather Daugherty and Lillian Blair.

Other Rockwood students who competed were Skye Irish, Nikole Kerns, Madison Hickey, Trevor Corbin, Carson McCullough, Ryan Hamby, and Caleb Burgess.

Group sponsors are Lucy Kirkham, Rockwood High School; and Teresa Woods, Oliver Springs High School.

FBLA is one of the largest business career student organizations in the world. The high school division has 215,000 members.

FBLA’s regional, state, and national awards programs recognize and reward excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas through competition in events testing their business knowledge and skills.
