Former constable Mark Patton was arrested Friday and taken to the Roane County Jail.
Sheriff Jack Stockton said the arrest stemmed from a warrant out of McMinn County for failure to pay child support.
“They’re coming to get him,” Stockton said Friday of McMinn authorities.
Patton was first arrested on Dec. 30 for failure to pay child support. The mother of his daughter, McMinn resident Lynne Harris, said Patton owed more than $30,000.
“Some of that is for attorney fees and private-investigator fees that I was awarded in court because of how difficult it has been to get him into court,” Harris said.
Patton was ousted from his position as constable in 2009 after a judge determined he committed numerous acts of misconduct, which included threatening law enforcement officers and their family members.
Stockton said Patton’s arrest on Friday was without incident.
“We didn’t have no trouble with him,” the sheriff said.
