Benjamin Clark, a 23-year-old Kingston man, has been arrested for an alleged mugging that occurred Monday outside Angel Nails on North Kentucky Street.
“He is being booked in right now for aggravated robbery,” Kingston Police Chief Jim Washam said.
Washam said Clark lived in an apartment building behind the Roane County Jail, so he didn’t have to travel far to get booked.
The victim in Monday’s mugging was an 84-year-old woman. Washam said she suffered a concussion and broken elbow.
“She had to have stitches in her head,” the chief said.
The manager of Little Caesars Pizza chased after Clark after the mugging. Washam said the manager was able to pick Clark out of a lineup.
Clark gave a confession when police went to his apartment to question him, Washam said.
