Kingston attempted to explain its reasoning behind wanting to acquire land in the Midtown area at last week's public hearing on the city's proposed urban growth plan - but no one was around to listen.
No one from the public attended the hearing.
The proposed growth plan includes properties on both sides of Hwy. 70 from the bridge crossing the Clinch River to the existing Harriman city limits.
The city also hopes to add properties west of Paint Rock Ferry Road along Watts Bar Lake, including the Long Island Marina.
