A woman accused of stealing $206.89 worth of filet mignon by hiding it in her pantyhose pleaded guilty to shoplifting in Roane County General Sessions Court on Monday.
Annie Smith, 60, was sentenced to probation for a year and fined $100. Smith must also pay $206.89 in restitution and is banned from the Rockwood IGA.
Randy Harris, Smith’s co-defendant in the case, was also scheduled to appear on Monday, but court officials said he was a no-show.
The theft occurred at IGA on March 9 and was captured by the store’s security camera.
“Mr. Harris did assist Ms. Smith in hiding $206.89 worth of filet mignon in her pantyhose,” Rockwood Police Officer Jared Hall wrote in the arrest warrant.
Harris, 46, allegedly fled the store when police showed up, and was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. He was also charged with evading arrest.
