Raiderettes hit triple digits, Raiders score win

The Roane State Raiderettes used the strength of seven players scoring in double-digits and five Columbia State technical fouls to steam roll their way to a 111-49 triumph over the Lady Chargers.

Roane State had runs of 11-0, 16-6, and 15-5 to help lift it to a 51-23 halftime lead. In the second half, the Raiderettes had runs of 12-0, 28-5, and 13-5 to pull away for the lopsided win.

Roane State had a decisive 57-42 edge in rebounds and a 19-12 advantage in steals. Roane State also made 10 3-pointers.

Columbia State was led in scoring by Courtney Cayard (10 points), Bria Joyner-Williams (9 points, 8 rebounds), Kaylah Gholson (7 points),

Shanavian Woodland (6 points, 9 rebounds) and Keyara Fisher (6 points, 7 rebounds). Ashley Davis (6 boards) also played well for the Lady Chargers.

Men’s Game

The Roane State Raiders used a strong showing to get a 78-67 win over the Columbia State Chargers Saturday afternoon.

Roane State used a 7-0 run to take a 12-6 lead. Columbia State responded with an 8-2 run to tie the game at 14-14. The Raiders came back strong, using an 11-2 run. The scoring spurt helped them take 42-33 lead at halftime.  

Columbia State couldn’t catch up in the second half, despite ending the game with a 15-6 run.  

Roane State had a 45-30 edge in rebounds. The Chargers had a 12-7 edge in steals.

Antonio Kalpic led the Raiders in rebounding with 10. Masceo Harmon (26 points, 8 assists) led the Chargers in scoring along with Dominique Parks (12 points, 5 rebounds), Greg Magee (7 points, 5 rebounds), Christian Little (7 points), Madison Futrell (6 points), and Robbin Perry (6 points, 7 rebounds).
