Members of the Roane County Board of Equalization could be getting a boost in pay.
On June 3, the county’s budget committee voted to increase the board’s pay from $100 to $150.
“They shouldn’t get a raise,” Commissioner Randy Ellis said. “That’s a 50-percent raise for them when our employees are looking at nothing.”
The budget committee is still working on a budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Raises for the county employees have not been included so far.
