Students at Roane County High School are helping out the Kingston Police Department in its Thanksgiving Food Drive for The Hands of Mercy.
The drive begins Oct. 1, which coincides with homecoming week at RCHS.
Each class will compete against the others in an attempt to gather the most items needed to fill as many food baskets as possible by the Nov. 16 deadline. The goal is to feed 750 needy families.
“We had a few students last year that helped, but this is the first year we’ve made it school-wide,” said RCHS Principal Lance Duff.
