Relay for Life gears up for '13

Roane County’s Relay for Life exceeded its 2012 goal of $52,000, instead raising around $60,000.

With that in mind, and a goal of increasing the number of teams, coordinators for the American Cancer Society fundraiser have set an even higher goal next year of $75,000.

“The kind of overall theme of Relay is ‘dream big, hope big and Relay big,’ so in Roane County we’re planning big,” said chairwoman Fran Puckett.

Kickoff is 5:30 p.m. Nov. 13 in Rockwood First Presbyterian Church.
