Reporters Notebook by Damon Lawrence: TVA trial lawyers still have work to do

-A A +A

Phase 1 of the first TVA ash spill trial concluded last week, but the work is not done for the lawyers involved.
U.S. District Judge Thomas Varlan instructed the parties to provide the court with their proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law along with closing argument briefs.

The briefs will allow each side to expand upon or reiterate what they told Varlan during verbal closing arguments last week. Varlan asked that the briefs be limited to 25 pages.

He also instructed the parties to submit summaries of the witness testimony.
