Richardson homers twice in Midway victory

The Midway Lady Green Waves picked up another non-district win with a 10-3 victory over Sequoyah Monday evening at Midway. 

Lady Wave pitcher Alex Richardson had few problems against Sequoyah, scattering six hits and three runs. She walked one and had five strikeouts in picking up the victory.

The Lady Chiefs did score first, picking up two runs in the top of the first inning, but Midway would respond with seven runs in the bottom half of the frame.

Halie Wiley led off with a single. After an out, Richardson tied the game with her first of two home runs on the day.

Ragyn Hall, Alisa Barger and Shade Narramore singled in order with Narramore's hit driving in Hall. Kaylee Burton drew a walk to load the bases then Jayde Rose picked up an RBI with a fly out to center field. Wiley came up again and got her second single of the inning to drive in Narramore and Burton. 

Sequoyah picked up a run in the third to cut the lead to 7-3, but Midway pulled away with two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. 

Richardson led off with her second home run of the game. After an out, Hall walked and Barger reached on an infield hit then Narramore walked to load the bases. Burton drew a walk to force in Hall and get an RBI credited to the at bat.

Midway added one more run in the sixth to go up 10-3. Barger got a one-out single to get things started then Narramore reached on a fielder's choice, forcing out Barger at second. Burton came up with a big double to score the last Midway run of the game.

 Midway improved to 12-7-1 with the win and host Alcoa Friday evening in another non-district contest.
