When Alex Richardson played at Midway High School, it was no secret she could hit.

Now the folks in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) are finding that out as Richardson was named the G-MAC Offensive Athlete of the Week only seven games into her freshman season at Trevecca Nazarene University.

Richardson was a two-time all-state selection at Midway and holds numerous school records, including home runs for a season and career.

Through seven games at Trevecca Nazarene, Richardson is hitting .389 with two home runs, two doubles, five RBIs and three runs scored. She is currently leading the team in slugging, RBIs, home runs, walks and total bases.

Richardson has done most of her damage in the last four games. After going 2-for-7 in her first three games at the plate, she has gone 6-of-14 in her last four.

The highlight of the stretch was going 2-for-4 with a third inning homer and game-winning 2-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning in a 6-4 victory over the University of Indianapolis, the No. 7 ranked team in NCAA Division II.
