Like has been the case all season, Rockwood put the game early by scoring on their first five straight possessions in taking a 36-6 lead at halftime.

Rockwood's first score came midway through the first period when Drake Long capped a five-play, 62-yard drive with a six-yard run.

The Tigers two-point try failed, leaving the score 6-0 with 3:56 left in the first period.

Rockwood's first big break of the game came on the ensuing kickoff when the Tigers recovered a Wartburg fumble.

Long scored again two plays later from 21 yards out to make the score 14-0 after Kyron Inman ran in a two-point conversion with 3:21 left in the first period.

Wartburg's biggest play of the night came on the kickoff as John Irvine took the ball and raced 83 yards for a touchdown to make the score 14-6 with 3:05 left in the opening period.

The rest of the half belonged to the Tigers.

A solid kickoff return by Logan Abbott gave the Tigers great field position at the Bulldogs 40. Four plays later, Inman scored on a five-yard run to make the score 20-6 with 5.1 seconds left in the first quarter.

Tiger FB Brant Mitchell was the story in the second quarter. Mitchell wears No. 44 and he scored on a pair of 44-yard runs as Rockwood took a 36-6 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Mitchell's first score came with 6:07 to play in the second quarter and Long would added the two-point conversion. Mitchell's second score came with 2:53 left in the half and Inman added the conversion.

The reserves played pretty much the rest of the night for the Tigers, but they still managed to score one more touchdown as Abbott capped a four-play, 46-yard drive with an 11-yard run to make the score 42-6 with 5:05 left in the third period.

Rockwood finished the night with 333 yards of total offense on 31 plays, all rushes.

Mitchell led the way with 125 yards and two TDs on five carries while Long added 86 yards and two TDs on six carries.

Up next for the 7-0 Tigers is a big game at Cherokee (7-0) on Thursday. The winner of Thursday's game will win the regular season Clinch Valley Conference Championship.
