Roane County E-911 and several other 911 districts across Tennessee are suing AT&T, alleging the telecommunications giant broke state law by failing to collect, report and remit charges the districts rely on to operate.
“In so doing, the defendant has purposefully deprived the district of the revenue it needs to provide its critical, life-saving 911 emergency services within Roane County,” the lawsuit said.
AT&T’s motivation, the lawsuit alleged, was to gain a competitive advantage.
