Roane County has become one of Tennessee’s powerhouses when it comes to low unemployment rates.
Though it slipped a bit in the past few months, the county has consistently had one of the state’s lowest jobless rate. But a drop of 0.5 percent in July led Roane County to reclaim its No. 4 position in the hierarchy.
Statistics released late last week from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development revealed Roane County’s unemployment rate at 7.8 percent, right behind Lincoln, Williamson and Knox counties.
