Roane on route of run for war dead

A group of runners made their way through Roane County Thursday morning in memory of members of the U.S. Armed Forces who lost their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The relay team with Run for the Fallen started the trek in Fort Irwin, Calif., and will end it at the gates to Arlington National Cemetery.

The run will cover more 4,000 miles and 13 states before it finishes on Aug. 24, accord-ing to a release.
