Rockwood 2000 to award $1,000 scholarship

Rockwood 2000 plans to award a $1,000 scholarship this year to a Rockwood High School senior.

This program was established to assist Rockwood High School students attend college or vocational school.  

Although Rockwood 2000 wishes to recognize academic achievement, the scholarship’s purpose is to also recognize leadership, integrity and community involvement.  

An application for this scholarship can be obtained from the Guidance Counselor at Rockwood High School.  

To be eligible, each student applying must be a graduating senior of Rockwood High School in the year the award is presented, and have a minimum of 2.5 scholastic rating on a 4.0 system.

Applicants must have applied to a college, university or vocational/trade school and be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.

Applicants must present the following to the guidance counselor by May 3:

• A completed application.

• School counselor’s recommendation.

• High school transcript.

• Personal recommendation.

Rockwood 2000 is involved in many community activities. Adding scholarships and/or academic gifts fits into the organization’s mission and goals for Rockwood.  

Members of Rockwood 2000 are happy to offer this endowment and hope to make it a yearly tradition.
