One man was in intensive care and another facing charges following a stabbing incident in Wartburg.

Wartburg Police were called to Roane Medical Center around 5 a.m. Sunday to investigate a report of a stabbing that had allegedly occurred near the intersection of Hwys. 27 and 62 in Wartburg.

According to authorities, Harold Gene Raby, 39, 207 Elm Grove St. in Loudon, and his wife, Janice Bramblett, gave Warren Dyer, 27, Rockwood, a ride from Kroger in Midtown to Wartburg.

According to authorities, Raby claimed that Dyer offered him money to take him to Wartburg.

When they got into Wartburg at the red light, a dispute led to Raby stabbing Dyer with a pair of shears, according to authorities.

Both men suffered injuries during the dispute, and both ended up at Roane Medical Center in Midtown. Dyer is in the intensive care unit at Roane Medical Center. He suffered a large cut under his left arm and all over his right hand.

Raby was treated for minor cuts on his hand and charged with aggravated assault.

He was booked into Morgan County Jail and released on a $3,000 bond.

According to Wartburg Police officer Dwayne Bales, the investigation is still ongoing, and Raby could be facing additional charges.
