Rockwood’s Sonic Drive-In Restaurant crew advances to the top 48 in a competition with 2,500 other stores.
Announced earlier this year that they were in the top 300 in the Dr. Pepper Sonic Games Competition, which is based on a variety of factors including mystery shopper reviews and employee scores on online quizzes, the Rockwood crew is excited about the possibility of getting in the final 12.
The Rockwood store has a reputation for friendly customer service and getting orders right. Many of the employees have developed friendships with the customers over the years.
Potters Ace Hardware employee Amanda Harris stops at the Rockwood Sonic each morning.
“They are good people here, Harris said. “I know them all by name. They know me by name. Anywhere you go and know the people you are dealing with, I like the personal atmosphere.”
If they make it to the Final 12, seven crew members will travel to Las Vegas on an all expensed paid trip and the chance to earn the bragging rights as the overall winner.
As part of the top 48, the Rockwood drive-in will compete in the Dr. Pepper Sonic Games’ Traveling Knowledge Bowl. It’s a game show like quiz competition. During each bowl, six crew members answer questions related to their position at the drive-in.
