Kingston Rotary Club presented its 2011-12 Annual Vocational Service Awards to The Roane Alliance and Allen Lutz, the Alliance’s educational and workforce development specialist.
The awards were presented during an Alliance board meeting June 14 by Bobby Davis of the Kingston Rotary Club. The club honors one organization and one individual yearly for exemplary service to the field of education and workforce development.
Davis said Lutz received the award for demonstrating high ethical standards and values in the performance of his duties.
Lutz conducts and manages the Alliance’s Education Matters! initiative, which includes educational and workforce development programs such as High School Career Day, Tennessee Scholars, RoaneAchieves, Teachers’ Supply Closet and Educators in the Workplace.
He also makes Education Matters! presentations throughout the community to civic clubs, students and parents at festivals, high school football games, meetings and wherever he is invited to speak.
The Alliance was honored for promoting high ethical standards and values in performing its duties, Davis said.
Accepting the award for the Alliance was Leslie Henderson, Alliance president and CEO.
The Roane Alliance is Roane County's economic development organization and consists of both public and private organizations, including the Roane County Chamber of Commerce, the Roane County Industrial Development Board, and the Roane County Visitors' Bureau.
