Manufacturing employers are welcome to participate in a Jan. 23 job fair for Roane State Community College students training to become manufacturing technicians.
Roane State offers courses in composite materials, has a one-year mechatronics certificate program, and provides a variety of courses through its Advanced Materials Training and Education Center.
Students studying composite materials are taught to work with materials such as carbon fiber. The mechatronics program teaches students how to maintain and repair high-tech automated machines, and AMTEC includes classes in such topics as OSHA safety certification, forklift operation, computer-aided drafting and design.
The job fair will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 23 from 1-5 p.m. at the college’s Clinton Higher Education and Workforce Training Facility, 214 Nave St.
There is no registration fee. Those wishing to participate are asked to register by Jan. 17 and may register at www.roanestate.edu/?7958.
The fair is a collaborative effort between the college’s Advanced Composites Employment program, the mechatronics program and AMTEC.
