Ruby Mae Gallaher, 82, of Oak Ridge, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in Windwood Golden Living Center in Clinton.
She was born Aug. 7, 1929, in the Wheat community of Roane County. She was a lifelong resident of this area, and she was a retired seamstress from Harriman Hosiery. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family, reading and being involved with her grandchildren’s activities.
She was a faithful Christian, and she attended several area Baptist churches.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Veto Picca and Rosa Lowe Picca; her husband, Martin Gallaher; a brother, Tony Picca; and two sisters, Italy Ollis and Hazel Picca.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Ramsey and husband Dale, Oak Ridge; two grandchildren, Tyson Ramsey and wife Lizzie, Oak Ridge, and Kelcee Ramsey, Oak Ridge; a great-grandchild, Kenzie Ramsey; several extended family members and special friends, including June Rather of Oliver Springs.
Burial and graveside services will be at 5 p.m. Friday, May 4, at New Fairview Cemetery, Oliver Springs, with Mark Gallaher officiating. Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to New Fairview Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 138 Fairview Circle, Oliver Springs, TN 37840.
