Sandra Ann King Brown, 68, of Harriman, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 29, 2012, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.
She was born May 8, 1943, in McCreary County, Ky. She had lived in Tennessee for the past 53 years.
Before her retirement as a licensed practical nurse, she was employed as a home health nurse, and she also worked at Johnson Health Care Center.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she was a member of Mill Baptist Church in Harriman. She formerly attended Mount Calvary Baptist Church and Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dunham and Lola King; a son, Bill Brown Jr.; six brothers, Lewis, Herbert, Charles, Dunham Jr., Morris and Roger King; five sisters, Beulah Minton, Agnes Smithers, Edith King, Donna Carroll and Doris Koger; and a stepgrandson, Chris Woods.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Billy Joe Brown, Harriman; two daughters, Kimberly Crass and husband Ronnie, Oliver Springs, and Michelle Christopher and husband Buddy, Clinton; a son, Scott Brown and wife Serina, Harriman, eight grandchildren, Shannon Brown, Shawn Brown, Scott Brown Jr., Tosha Moss and husband David, Devin Crass, Jill Crass, Kayla and Kelsey Christopher; three great-grandchildren, Brady, Kynzee and Kylee Moss.
She is also survived by a sister, Betty Hollingsworth, Campton, Ky.; two brothers, Dean King and wife Virgie, Pine Knot, Ky., and William King and wife Grace, Cincinnati; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends, including Pam Harris.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, in Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. The funeral followed at 8 p.m. in the church, with Pastors Garvan Walls, Johnny Golston and Eddie Neeley officiating. Burial and graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Harriman. Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs, is in charge of arrangements.
