Sarah Joyce Cherry Wilson, 77, of Kingston, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012, at her home.
She was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Troy, Tenn., to Watson Aubrey Cherry and Martha Wiley Cherry. She was a member of Young’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Lawnville Road. She spent more than 20 years in the Air Force with her husband and moved to Kingston in 1974.
She married Sammie D. Wilson on July 3, 1951. They have two children, Cheryl D. Kennedy, married to John Roger Kennedy, Kingston; and Rondel N. Wilson, Kingston. She leaves a sister Doris Crowell, Kingston; two grandsons Bret Aune, Nashville, and Mike Russell, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two granddaughters, Hope Russell, Oklahoma City, and Ashley Wilson Jackson, Pikeville, TN; four great-grandsons, Blaze Jackson, Ace Jackson, Bo Russell and Emmett Aune; and a great-granddaughter, Kyndal Aune.
Funeral was at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 31, in Kyker Funeral Home chapel, Kingston, with the Rev. Dale Watson officiating. Burial was at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 1, at Lawnville Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston.
