School director goals, bonuses in new contract

The Roane County Board of Education approved a performance contract for Director of Schools Gary Aytes last week.

“This was done in concert with Mr. Aytes and legal counsel Mr. (Charles) Cagle has reviewed this as well,” Board Member Wade McCullough said. “It is a very similar process that the board has went through with previous directors.”

Aytes, who was hired in May, is eligible for a bonus during each year of his two-year employment contract.

The performance contract lists four goals and 20 sub-goals.
