U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander will be the keynote speaker the first day of the 2013 Tennessee Valley Corridor National Summit in Oak Ridge.
The 2013 TVC Summit on May 29-30 will focus on energy, advanced manufacturing, workforce development, innovation and entrepreneurism.
Alexander, R-Tennessee, is expected to update a major energy address he made at the 2009 summit in Oak Ridge.
U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann will host the summit, and other key decision-makers representing academia, government and industry from Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia, Kentucky and North Carolina will participate.
The Tennessee Valley Corridor’s purpose is to sustain the region’s existing federal missions, to compete for new missions and to leverage public/private relationships for high-quality job growth.
