Rockwoood Business and Professional Women awards two annual scholarships to members of the graduating class of Rockwood High School.
The first, a $500 scholarship to be used at the school of the recipient’s choice, was awarded to Courtney Shelton.
She is the daughter of Cheryl Walden and Tracy Shelton.
The second scholarship, a two-semester tuition grant of $500 per semester to be used at Roane State Community College, was awarded to Kesney Lemons.
She is the daughter of Tracy Scarbrough and Victor Lemons.
For the past several years, the BPW honors have been named the Nannie Mae Eachus scholarships in memory of a long-time BPW member.
This year the names of Betty Bane and JoAnne Smith will also be added to recognize their support of the scholarships for Rockwood High School girls.
The BPW Scholarship to Roane State was one of the first to be awarded to the college.
It began shortly after the school opened in an elementary school building in Harriman and has been awarded every year since then.
