The Roane County Sheriff’s Office is touting a new program that could help the public stay informed about crime in Roane County.

“The Roane County Sheriff’s Office now has an online crime map called RAIDS Online that maps and analyzes crime data, alerts Roane County citizens about crimes in their area, and allows the Roane County Sheriff’s Office to quickly alert the public about crimes as they occur,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

“Roane County citizens can view a map and grid with all of the crimes in their area, sign up for neighborhood watch reports that automatically email a breakdown of recent crime activity, and submit an anonymous tip about a crime directly to their law enforcement agency.”

It also features some sex offender locations.

Roane County’s crime map is on the internet at www.raidsonline.com/?address=Kingston,%20TN.

The press release also said the sheriff’s office partnered with BAIR Analytics Inc. to bring the service to the public.

“The Roane County Sheriff’s Office’s participation in RAIDS Online highlights their commitment to proactive communication with the public they serve,” Sean Bair, founder of BAIR Analytics, was quoted in the news release. “We’re excited to partner with the Roane County Sheriff’s Office to provide this free service to their public.”
