Sheriff's office investigating homicide

The Roane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an elderly man as a homicide.
Chief Deputy Tim Phillips identified the victim as Russell C. Blevins of 138 Hart Orchard Road.
“We believe he died as the result of a gunshot wound,” he said.
Blevins, 85, was found in his home Sunday evening. Phillips said he was notified around 8:15 p.m. 
“I believe a family member hadn’t heard from him, went to check on him, found him and then notified the 911 center,” he said.
