Shiloh Baptist cites Chapman

-A A +A

W.D. “Bud” Chapman was recently presented with a plaque of recognition commemorating his many years of service to Shiloh Baptist Church.

Chapman’s conversion and baptism was in the mid-1950s when a Cherokee Indian minister, the Rev. Robert Bushyhead, led a revival at the church.

His contributions to the church include teaching the adult men’s Sunday school class for years. He and his wife, Alice, founded and helped lead the Shiloh senior ministry for 15 years.

Chapman moved from Shiloh for a few years. After returning in 2008, he continued to teach his adult Sunday school class until recently.

The K-25 Site retiree celebrated his 95th birthday on Sept 9.

He is a veteran of World War II who served in Germany under Gen. George Patton and was a prisoner of war.

The Chapmans live in the Ten Mile community.

He has four daughters, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
