Roane State Community College is participating in the Obama Administration’s Summer Jobs+ program.
The White House describes the program as a “call to action for businesses, nonprofits and government to work together to provide pathways to employment for low-income and disconnected youth in the summer of 2012.”
As part of the program, Roane State will provide life skills and work skills courses, at no cost, to 50 people age 16-24.
Classes will include training in money management, conflict resolution, teamwork, social skills, how to apply for a job online, résumé writing in the 21st century, the best way to use social networking, and how to make lasting impressions.
